睡眠についてはまだ解明されてないことが多くありますが、一つほぼ間違いないレベルで断言できることがあります。

それは、人は寝ないと死ぬということです。

知ってのとおり日本はとても自殺者が多い国なのですが、自殺に至る典型的なパターンとして

睡眠不足 → 鬱 → 自殺

というのがあります。

厚労省の調査にによれば、自殺未遂者の7割が睡眠不足で、平均睡眠時間は5時間だそうです。


今、多くの日本人に必要なのは睡眠を減らして頑張ることではなく、ちゃんと寝ることです。
